Hundreds of individuals, families, school and civic groups visit Wings Field each year. It’s no wonder the airport is such a popular spot for so many . . . because there’s so much to see and do.
Families like to sit in the parking lot or at the picnic tables with their children watching the airplanes come and go, talking with the pilots, and marveling at the skills of the PennSTAR crew. Walkers and joggers make it a stop on their workout routes to take a breath and to take in the beautiful open space.
A guided tour of Wings Field can be arranged for groups of either school-age children or adults by calling 215.646.0400 at least two weeks before the tour. This guided tour takes about one hour and covers the history and current operations of Wings Field, providing a unique “airside” perspective of general aviation businesses and activities. To maintain this free service, a minimum of 10 people are required.
